Early this year we purchased a computer with a pretty/beautiful monitor - if I may say so myself - and I do. One of the reasons for this substantial purchase, is because we realised that since my first born will be in kindergarten this year then I could take online classes while I was home with my daughter and when she is ready to start school I will be graduating.
We are a family of four. My wonderful husband - to whom I am not legally married- is a plumber and works hard but the economy has not been blue collar friendly and the in the industry he's in alot of the companies are privately owned therefore the wages are not good (considering the work they do) especially if you do not know the owner or you dont have friends in high places or if you have values - as is the case with him.
Our desire is to always have one of us available to the children about 90% of the time, however this seems like a pipe dream. We have seen the effect on kids when both parents are working and are busy and gone- this is not to say it doesnt always work- but in our immediate family and others not so immediate, the effect on the kids has not been something we desire for ours, hence the desire that one of us is available for the kids. However with me returning to school, and student loans being taken out it seems we will both be working in about 3 years (if i get a job that is ). I should mention though that my husband - God willing- will be getting his Master licence certification next year and this will enable him to start his own company, should things go that way.
Around Feb. this year I learned that one of my friends had enrolled at the UOP and so I started to look into it. They assigned an advisor who has walked me thro the process and has been very encouraging. I am returning to school after about 4 year absence so I am nervous that re-entering the workforce will not be easy.
Finally I should say that we believe in God without whom none of this would be possible......Amen!
